The nation’s attention turns to Virginia on March 3 as the Commonwealth is one of 14 states with primaries on “Super Tuesday.”

Your Union has been hard at work studying the presidential primary contenders. The National Education Association, of which VEA is an affiliate, will make a presidential recommendation at or before the NEA Convention in July.

Here are three steps to being “Primary-Prepared” in Virginia:

1. Take the Pledge
   Sign up now to be a public education voter in 2020. Sign up below.
2. Compare the Candidates
   Use NEA’s candidate tracker to compare the presidential candidates on myriad aspects of the education planks of their campaigns
3. Make Your Primary Day Plan
   You will vote at your usual polling place. Use this link if you’re not sure where to vote and check here to be sure you have the ID you need.
4. Vote!
   There is a long list of Democrats on the Democratic ballot, some of whom have already dropped out of the race. Read your ballot carefully. Republicans have opted to hold their presidential primary at a Party convention later this year.
